Bougeoire de Boudeoire — A wall sconce to seduce the room. Backlit pink marble on top of lucious wood. Shown at Head-Hi Lamp Show, Spring 2021.  Rosa Portugallo marble, Puerto Rican mahogany, brass.

1 Lexington Fireplaces — The prompt was to create two stunning fireplaces for a renovated duplex apartment overlooking Gramercy Park. The 150-year old building and apartment interior is grand and classical, but the client’s art collection quite modern. Thus the design went in a classic direction, but with an eye-catching modern, yet ancient marble: the Grand Antique d’Aubert.
The Grand Antique marble of southern France was a favorite of late antiquity, prevalent in The Hagia Sofia, and used for the tomb of Joseph-Napoleon Bonaparte (as seen above), and more recently in association with modern art at MoMA’s expansions by Diller Scofidio & Renfro.
