Whistle Pig Sauna & Bathhouse — 2020 Current
Intended to serve guests staying at the Great House at the Whistle Pig Whiskey Farm & Distillery in Shoreham, Vermont. The Sauna and bathhouse is a wood-fired traditional sauna, perched on a stone plinth containing a cold plunge pool and eight-person hot-tub. Echoing the materials used in the aging of whiskey and the local stone farm walls, the small wood sauna features charred wood siding, cedar interior, and a local granite base. Situated up the slope from the main house, the porch offers expansive views over the 500-acre property.
Aegean Barrel Vault House — 2021 study
A five-bedroom vacation home for the Aegean, exploring a compression-only masonry construction, utilizing traditional Catalan tile vault technology. Load-bearing stone walls, made up of local stone, supporting a ring of reinforced concrete doubling as lintels over openings. The load of the two tile barrel vaults transferring their load into the reinforced concrete ring. A vegetated greenroof using the left-over spaces formed by the vault.
An AHU (Additional Housing Unit) for a small but growing family in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. The conversion of a former garage to a guesthouse with a kitchen and bathroom added.
